I uploaded this image with a couple of my other shots from this series to Imgur and was DESTROYED IMMEDIATELY. The barrage of comments went something like “slutty” “should have stopped at 3 photos” “not cosplay” blah blah blah, kill yourself then flagged.
HOLY SHIT. I don’t see anything wrong with what she’s wearing as being slutty? I mean you see less at the beach. And I didn’t say this was cosplay I said it was cosplayer Helena. Wow I deleted that account as quick as I could and I am still trying to catch my breath from the savagery of it all. Am I delusional? Should I quit trying to create interesting photos of women?
I don’t even know what to think but now I am second guessing myself when I thought this whole time I was being somewhat objective about what I do.

Cosplayer Helena Steele in studio yesterday for “World Photography Day”. This was part of a BTS lighting video and tutorial that I am putting together. I used a single light set up, with my strobe at its lowest power and adjusted in camera to change exposure. I will post a link here to watch the BTS/tutorial here when it’s finished! I am working on the voice over today! I can’t wait to share with you some of the natural light images from this set. THANK YOU HELENA!
I brought my back up camera with me today to the farmers market and I had to stop and get this. It’s basically a metaphor for my life right now. Lol.
Every time I do a Vape or smoke series of photos it gets hated to death. I still love these. Thanks Marshall! <3
